SUMMER OUTINGS 2011 DIRECTIONS
10am onwards with picnic lunch 12.30.pm approx. All dates are weather permitting.
Due to the programme having to be compiled so far in advance, I need to make changes.

17 MAY... BISHOPS GARDENS,CHICHESTER
Off South Street, through Canon Gate Archway into Canon Lane. Entrance to garden at far end of lane. Festival hall car park, with smaller nearer car parks probably more expensive.
31 MAY... CAMBER VENUE CANCELLED as parking is at times limited. Now PORT SOLENT.
Take A27 towards Portchester. Turn left at traffic lights into Port way then along Marina Keep. Park for free behind Watermark restaurant or John Lloyd's Gym.
14 JUNE... WEST WITTERING BEACH
A27 to Chichester, then A286 [ follow brown tourist signs to West Wittering Beach ] to West Wittering village, 200 yds past the village shops turn right, then travel along the signposted road to seaside private car park. Follow the brown tourist signs. [parking is quite expensive so suggest car sharing approx £5].Toilets and cafe.
28th June. NOW SUSTAINABILITY CENTRE.NR.HMS MERCURY. (LORDINGTON LAVENDER FARM 2 weeks later)
2 miles south of East Meon Village. From A3 take the road into Clanfield . At the Rising Sun Pub turn right. [ there is a brown sign signposted The Sustainability Centre ]. Follow the road for about 2 miles - the last mile up hill through woods. At the top of hill turn left at cottage onto Droxford rd. Go on 400 yds and Centre is on left.
12 July LORDINGTON LAVENDER FARM PO18DX
Cost...£3.50 which is given to a charity
From Westbourne, take B2147 northward, at road junction turn right then immediately left to continue on B2147 going towards Walderton. Racton ruin is on your left. Continue a mile or more on, then on left is Lordington. Take this turning into Private Road, and continue for about half a mile. Park in farm where shown. Lavender and fields of wild flowers. [ Lordington farm is on o.s. map] Short walk to lavender fields is very steep, for those with walking difficulties.
26 July.... BISHOPS WALTHAM PALACE
Ruin of Medieval Palace...Parking, picnic area, toilets located nearby at Bishop's Waltham. Free entry to Palace.
From Wickham take A334 for 3miles.Then take right fork in road onto B2177. After approx. 1 mile turn left into Station road, continue on to Bishop's lane.
9 Aug.. SOUTH HARTING HILL
From West Marden B2146 towards South Harting, passing Uppark, continue for a short distance [Before reaching S.Harting] turn right B2141 for a short distance.Harting Down car park is on right.View point sign is on map.[Panoramic view of Downs and South Harting] Nearest toilets in South Harting Village. There is a parking charge.
23 Aug... COWDRAY PARK A286 to Midhurst
Parking free for the first 2 hours of your visit is available in North Street car park, by the Midhurst bus station. 20p per hour thereafter. From the gate at the end of car park, join raised Causeway leading straight to Cowdray. Picnics welcome in grounds on the picnic benches or on the grass in front of the building. Over 60s/disabled entry to the Park cost £5.10p |

6 SEPT.... WEST ITCHENOR (Not 13th)
Take A27 to Chichester, at Stokebridge roundabout take A286, go through Birdham, then continue on B2179 ,turn right after public house towards Shipton Green. West Itchenor car park [payable] on left before quay.Toilets on quay side.
20 SEPT.... NORE BARN WOODS AND FORESHORE (Not 27th)
HAYLING ISLAND VENUE CANCELLED.
From the Emsworth roundabout take the A259 towards Havant, pass one set of traffic lights and at the 2nd traffic lights turn left into Beach road. Continue to reach the shore and park on the road side.
Nore Barn woods is to your right. Picnic benches .
