Members of Rowlands Castle Painting Society are celebrating 40 years of the club.
The Society was set up with 22 members in 1970 with the founding principle
to encourage and instruct its members in painting and drawing.
The society now boasts 165 members and to commemorate the milestone anniversary new
members are being encouraged to pop along to workshops to find out more about the group.
Members held their major spring exhibition on March 20 and 21.
During the autumn and winter we meet on Tuesdays. On the second and fourth Tuesday afternoon
of the month there is a workshop between 2pm and 4pm, followed by an evening demonstration by a
professional artist, from 7.30 pm to 9.30pm.
The Life Drawing group meets on the intermediate Tuesday afternoons.
Non-members can attend these meetings at a cost of £2. From May, there will be outdoor painting
and picnic days at beauty spots across the county.
All meetings are held in Rowlands Castle Parish Hall, Links Lane.
